Job Title: Interim Youth Ministry Coordinator
Reports to: Pastor
Accountable to: Session, through the Youth Ministry Elder

Job Description: Coordinate the youth ministry program for students (grades 6-12) and their families, focusing on the weekly gathering & maintenance of communication in context of social-distance.

Faith and Calling: Demonstrate a personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord consistent with the basic tenets of reformed faith, and a genuine sense of God’s call to this ministry and service.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum experience of two years in a youth program coordination role.

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience. Background in Christian Education preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with diverse age groups; good written & verbal communication skills.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, social media, & web meeting protocols.

  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize and organize time and tasks efficiently.

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.

  • Administrative skills necessary for implementing programs, policies, and procedures.

  • Ability to preserve confidentiality in appropriate circumstances.

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  1. Coordinate the Wednesday night weekly gathering, working with students, parents, and adult volunteers to develop a program of spiritual growth and encouraging fellowship.

  2. Maintain communication with students and parents via email, social media, phone, & visitation.

  3. Recruit, train, equip, and coordinate adult youth ministry volunteers, holding them accountable to position requirements and supervising their interaction with youth and parents.

  4. Meet with the Pastor for weekly check-ins; occasional staff meeting attendance.

  5. Meet monthly with the Youth Ministry Team.

  6. Enforce current policies and procedures to maintain a secure and safe environment, including permission/release forms, child safety, and COVID-19 restrictions.

  7. Manage youth ministry budget and expenditures.

  8. If time permits, coordinate occasional special events such as group outings, celebrations, retreats, and mission/service projects.

Work Schedule: Temporary, through mid-June 2022, Part-time, 20-25 hours/week (non-exempt)

Compensation: Hourly wage dependent on experience. As a temporary position, not eligible for benefits
