This retreat introduces us to the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius of Loyola (16th century). They help us to engage in a regular practice of “time apart with God” while going about our everyday lives. Through these prayer practices, we grow in our ability to be attentive and aware of God’s presence and to listen to God speak into our lives.
What are the Spiritual Exercises?
The Spiritual Exercises are an invitation to renew and deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer and meditation on Scripture. The Exercises are not intellectual exercises – teaching a set of theological propositions, but rather a series of prayerful meditations on Scripture that helps us to clarify and deepen our devotion to Jesus Christ.
