Please be in prayer for Rev. Dennis Hughes and his spouse Ann. He has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer after many mysterious physical symptoms (rapid weight loss and debilitating back pain). He and Ann are choosing quality of life over quantity for however long our Lord gives.
Dennis served as the Interim Pastor at Port Townsend PC prior to the calling of Rev. Paul Heins. Currently he is temporary pastor at Quilcene PC and he has served on our COM and as chief exam coordinator for new clergy transferring into NWC Presbytery.
Dennis has been a generous, loving, and faithful witness to Christ in his ministry and a wonderful colleague in NWC and Seattle Presbyteries and the larger church. He has shared that in God's love he is not afraid to die. The morning after his diagnosis, Dennis was consoled by a message from the Lord which was the same as that granted to Julian of Norwich several hundred years ago who in the midst of a life threatening illness reported seeing the Lord at the foot of her bed saying, "If I could love thee more, I would love thee more."
Dennis will be concluding service at Quilcene PC on January 22 with a service of anointing for wholeness. Please join me in praying for Dennis, Ann, and his family. If you would like to reach out to Dennis personally, please click here to email him.
