Many Congregations, One Spirit

This is the worship service from May 31, 2017 in Bellingham of 12 congregations worshipping together at Pentecost including 4 Presbyterian Churches in Whatcom County. This was a vision of Rev. Doug Bunnell 8 years ago. And this was the 8th service of its sort.

Here's a little backstory: Eight years ago FPC, Birchwood, Acme, St. James, the local Covenant Church and maybe one or two more did a combined service for Pentecost. Those churches closed down that day and moved to the Mt Baker Theater. It was Doug's idea, Presbytery gave seed money. Last Sunday, for the eighth time, it was held again, now at the local high school with a better auditorium. Now ten churches, including St James PC (at Seth's urging) after not participating for a few years, and a network of Hispanic churches (a story of its own).

The service is video recorded (Facebook link above). If you can't view the whole thing, at least check out the hymn done in both Spanish and English at 12 minutes and Rev. Darrell Johnson's incredible sermon at 40.00 (notice the very visible translator to his left who was translating for folks with head sets) and the benediction that you gotta see at 1.24 where he does prophecy in front of a bunch of Presbyterians.
