The congregation at Whidbey PC voted unanimously to approve Rev. Jon Draskovic as their new pastor. He will begin working on Sept. 14. Jon and his wife, Kristen, are from Denver, CO. Jon has been interviewed by the Commission on Ministry, and will be recommended to the Northwest Coast Presbytery at the meeting in October.
Jon graduated from James Madison University (BS Geography), Colorado State University (MA Agriculture, International Development) and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary (M.Div.). He was serving as an Associate Pastor. He brings with him a wide variety of skills and experiences, including work with FEMA, substitute teaching elementary school, program assistant at an HIV clinic in Nigeria, and a housing justice project in Denver. He has served as Moderator of Presbytery and Moderator of Cabinet for the Glacier Presbytery, member of the joint ministry task force for Glacier/Yellowstone and a delegate to the 2012 General Assembly.
Jon is originally from Connecticut, but has fallen in love with the Northwest. He and his wife, Kristen, met while they were working together with Housing Justice in Denver, Colorado. They have been married for eight years and recently welcomed little Elise Joy into their family.
